billboard magazine reports that singer paula abdul will release a greatest hits compilation on virgin records in september 2000. it has long been speculated that abdul was seeking to complete her virgin contract and that she may use a greatest hits package to accomplish that.

paula abdul has collaborated with songwriters osborne bingham, kara dioguardi and ira shickman on a song from the upcoming emi/parlophone label debut of pop-princess-cum-dance-diva kylie minogue. the song, entitled "spinning around", was released on 000619 in advance of the album light year, which is expected to be released in europe in september.
