on 051110, chanteuse, lalah hathaway, will appear alongside terri lyne carrington, fontella bass, dianne reeves and rokia traoré in a one-night only performance of billie & me, a tribute to legendary jazz vocalist, billie holiday. combining live performances, readings and reinterpretations of lady day's repetoire with film and audio footage, audience members at the new york pops will be taken on a journey from billie's beginnings to the life of a hard-traveling star. this performance is made possible by a grant from the alice tully foundation.
