yesterday saw the commercial release of the latest cher album, not commercial. the album's title is a reference to warner u.k. chief rob dickens' reaction to the album, when he first heard it six years ago. that reaction caused cher to shelve the album—having written it for therapeutic reasons and to grow her skills as a songwriter—until the advent of the internet gave her a vehicle with which to market and sell it on her own. while cher is not concerned with the album's commercial success, she does hope that it will speak to the hearts of many of her fans. those wishing to purchase the album should go to cher's personal website at www.cher.com.

it should come as no small shock that share has been included on mr. blackwell's list of the worst dressed for 1999. other divas who didn't fare well in the eyes of celebrity's most famous fashion police officer included fiona apple and celine dion. the only female musician to make blackwell's list of the best dressed was singer/actor/director barbara streisand.

cher has been nominated for grammy awards in the categories of record of the year, best dance recording and best pop album, for her 1999 release believe. the forty-second annual grammy awards ceremony will be televised on 23 february 2000 on cbs.
